Volodymyr Menok

President – Licensed Paralegal

License Number: P10414

Volodymyr Menok is the President of Traffic Paralegal Services and a Licensed Paralegal in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. He joined the firm in 2014 and advanced through the organization by taking on increasing responsibility at each stage of his career.

After graduating from Sheridan College with High Honours, Mr. Menok began working at Traffic Paralegal Services in a junior capacity. His progression was direct and earned—moving from assistant roles into full paralegal practice, then into management, and ultimately into ownership of the firm. He now leads the organization with a strong focus on consistent results, structured advocacy, and disciplined case preparation.

Trial Work and Courtroom Focus

Mr. Menok’s work is defined by regular appearances in Ontario Court of Justice proceedings under the Provincial Offences Act, which involve more serious allegations and formal summons procedures. These are not routine tickets. They are cases that require structured disclosure review, Charter consideration, and precise courtroom advocacy.

His trial experience includes defending some of the most serious charges under the Highway Traffic Act, such as:

  • Careless Driving (including cases involving collisions and significant property damage)
  • Careless Driving Causing Bodily Harm or Death
  • Stunt Driving / Racing
  • Drive While Under Suspension
  • Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident
  • Fail to Stop for Police
  • Commercial Vehicle (CVOR) Offences

Experience with Appeals and Legal Arguments

In addition to trial-level work, Mr. Menok has experience advancing matters beyond first-instance decisions, including appeals where legal or procedural errors are in issue. His work often involves technical arguments grounded in case law, including:

  • The objective standard of care in careless driving cases
  • The limits of momentary inattention as a basis for conviction
  • Charter arguments, including delay and disclosure-related issues
  • Challenges to the sufficiency and reliability of officer evidence

Mentorship and Professional Development

Beyond his own practice, Mr. Menok plays an active role in mentoring the next generation of paralegals. Over the years, he has guided dozens of students completing their placements at Traffic Paralegal Services, many from programs such as Sheridan College. His mentorship is hands-on—reviewing files, explaining procedural steps, and exposing students to real courtroom dynamics. The focus is not only on theory, but on how matters unfold in practice, where timing, preparation, and judgment shape results.

Leadership and Ongoing Practice

As President, Mr. Menok continues to maintain an active caseload. He remains directly involved in trial preparation, court appearances, and strategic oversight of complex files. His leadership reflects a practical understanding of how Provincial Offences matters are actually prosecuted and defended in Ontario.

Fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, and Polish, he is able to assist a diverse client base across the province, ensuring that communication remains clear at every stage of the process.

The direction he has set for Traffic Paralegal Services is consistent: careful preparation, disciplined advocacy, and an eagerness to take matters to trial where the evidence does not support a conviction. In serious cases under the Highway Traffic Act, that approach is not optional—it is necessary.
